 "Allah" Controversy & 1Malaysia

Praise God for His mercies and all His blessings flow despite the arson attempts and vandalism
  1. Praise God for the Church who seeks His will and obeys His commandments in her responses. 
    • The Church will continue to humble herself and seek to walk His way.  
  2. Praise God for the majority of Muslims who are peace-loving and respectful of other religious adherents.
  3. Praise God for the majority of the rakyat who are sensible and exercise discernment,
  4. Praise God for those who are courageous in speaking out what is right and doing good.
    • May God be the strength of their hearts and their portions forever.
  5. Pray for wisdom, sober judgment and imparitiality for the national leaders as they seek amicable solutions and when they make public statements.
    • Minister in Prime Minister's Dept, Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz said the non-Muslims could use "Allah" in Penang, Sabah, Sarawak and the Federal Territories. http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/index.php/malaysia/49976-non-muslim-can-use-allah-in-three-states-fts
    • Some said the arson attempts and vandalism at churches was a self-fulfilling prophecy by some leaders who made inconsiderable remarks in their responses to the High Court ruling.
    • "The mouth of a good person is a deep, life-giving well, but the mouth of the wicked is a dark cave of abuse" (Prov 10:11, The Message) / "The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence" (NASB).
  6. Pray that the opportunists and those who seek to sow discord for own political gain to repent, for "the wicked will fall by his own wickedness"  (Prov 11:5b).
  7. Pray for those who are easily influenced that they will no longer be manipulated to do evil.
    • "The wisdom of the sensible is to understand his way, but the foolishness of fools is deceit" (Prov 14:8, NASB).

Flood havoc in Sabah 

Weeks of heavy rain brought flood to some districts in Sabah. The situation in Kota Marudu was reportedly to be the worst. There were 1,777 victims at five relief centres while 262 had sought refuge at relatives' homes. It was also reported that, in Telipid and Kinabatangan, 951 people were evacuated (18/01/10, NST)http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/NST/articles/21fnd/Article/index_html
  • We pray for the wellbeing of the people, and that their homes and lives may soon be restored.

Haiti_earthquake aftermath

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called the situation in Haiti "one of the worst humanitarian crises in decades". UN has pledged to provide daily food to 2 milllion people, and said to have reached about 60,000 people on Sunday. 
  1. Pray for smooth delivery of relief supplies, and that food and basic amenities to reach afflicted areas without any hindrances.
    • Many roads are still blocked by corpses and debris.
    • Fuel shortages. "We need fuel to bring in supplies and carry the wounded," said UN spokeswoman, Elizabeth Byrs.
  2. Pray for social order, that the Haitians will be patient and help one another.
  3. Pray for God's abundant mercies upon Haitians,
    • that He will be their strength, a stronghold to save them.
    • that Haiti will be restored and transformed by His grace
