 "Allah" Controversy & Arson attacks on places of worship






 
Praise God for His grace and love. "His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime". "O Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong." [Psalm 30]
  1. Praise God for the Church who continues to preach peace and share Christ's love. 
    • Christians will not be intimidated in any way but conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the Gospel, standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith (Phil 1:27).
    • Christians to live out our lives as peacemakers and  spread the Good News and bless others, for the Gospel does not accept the superiority of any race or culture.
    • "God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the man who fears Him and does what is right is welcome to Him" (Acts 10:34, 35) 
  2. Praise God for the sensible and matured rakyat who seek to do what is right.
    • Pray for mutual respect for one another and common good for a multi-ethnic society.
  3. Praise God for the police force who have acted quickly in arresting the wrongdoers, and are diligent in keeping social order and peace. 
    • May God strengthen their hearts and grant them discernment in carrying out their duties, without fear or favoritism. 
  4. Pray for those who are easily influenced by opportunists and who have no sense of what is right and what is wrong.
    • Four men, aged between 16 and 28, were arrested for arson attempt on two surau in Muar. "The youth... had done so without thinking. Nonetheless, their irresponsible actions are considered a crime..." said Deputy IGP Tan Sri Ismail Omar (Star, 24/1/10).
Increase in dengue cases  Between Jan 1 and 23,  3,002 dengue cases were reported. Selangor recorded the highest number of cases (1,370), followed by Sarawak (645), KL/Putrajaya (246), Johor (166) and Sabah (106).  (Star, pN8, 25/01/10)
  • Pray that rakyat will commit to cleanliness and cooperate to maintain a clean neighborhood. 
  • Pray for adequate water, sewer system or waste management
Haiti_earthquake aftermath, cont.   The Haitian government said that more than 150,000 quake victims were buried, but the figure did not include corpses buried by relatives or still under the debris (AFP, 24/1/10). Earlier an official said that more than 193,000 people were injured and more than 609,000 were living in temporary camps (Star, pW39, 24/1/10).     Basic facts about Haiti

  1. Continue to pray that the lives of Haitians will be restored and that the whole nation be transformed, inwardly and outwardly.  
  2. Haitians will seek the LORD and become a nation that shines His righteousness and justice.
